Hi,

I am Marie Anik Paradis.

I am a passionate and creative Senior User Experience & Product Designer.

My UX career started accidentally as I traveled, lived, and worked around the globe. I kept noticing endless ways to improve everything I could lay my eyes on.

As I worked my way from restaurants to vineyards, to resorts, Iearned how to identify opportunities for improvement. Around ten years ago I channeled my constant need to improve usability to digital products. This skillset was complimentary to my passion for art and my self-taught graphic design skills, making UX my next career.

I am curious and empathetic, and I thrive on clear and efficient communication. I also have the ability to quickly grasp and understand complex systems. One of my biggest achievements is the full redesign of the internal systems of BC’s Ministry of Transportation and Infrastructure. This also included the design of a new public-facing Portal allowing users to easily access data and interact with the Ministry to apply for permits or certificates, complete required tests, or manage their accounts.

My career goal and life goals are intertwined. I find tremendous value in learning, practicing, iterating, finally sharing my knowledge and passion with others in order to achieve more than the sum of my personal input and that of my team’s.

When I’m not standing at my desk, you’ll find me warming up in my wood-fired sauna (I built it myself!) or cooling down in an ice-bath, hanging from tall structures or floating on the water, or cooking a 5-course meal for a few friends with a glass of Russian River Chardonnay in hand.
